Right now we are in Lent, Lent is 40 days leading up to Easter. We have been learning about all of the events leading up to Easter, those events are Passion Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Passion Sunday is the proper name for Palm Sunday and Maundy Thursday Is the proper name for Holy Thursday. We had to fill in a table with all of the Importance’s of the Holy Week events. Amazing Advent Calendar🎄- Week 7 Term 4

This week we have been learning about advent, if you dont know anything about advent this is some facts.

There is a wreath at Church and sometimes in people’s homes with 4 candles 3 purple and 1 pink and each Sunday leading up to Christmas we light one. The first Sunday you light purple as well as the second but on the 3rd you light the pink then the last Sunday you light the last purple. Advent starts on the first Sunday in December witch this year is December 1st and it ends on Christmas eve. The candles remind us to be patient for Jesus coming. Christmas is not just about presents it’s about family and loving Jesus and helping people in need and being kind to everyone you see.

One of the tasks we did was to make an advent calendar but instead of chocolate in it we made one with random acts of kindness.

Here is mine you click on the box for each day and it takes you to a slide with the act of kindness.

St Mary Fact File

A few weeks ago we were learning about Mary. We learnt that Mary was he daughter of saints Anne and Joachim, Her cousin was Elizabeth who was the mother of John the Baptist and many more fun facts. Mary is one of my favorite Saints because she was not afraid and yes said yes to God to raise a baby when she was still young. Mary is a fearful saint and she loves everyone no matter what. We had to make a fact file on her, here is mine.

St Gianna Beretta Molla

This week in RE we were learning about Confirmation. Confirmation is when you choose to stay with god all your life and you give your life to him. I am preparing  to make my Confirmation right now. When you make your Confirmation you pick a saint that you pray  and you look up to. I have picked St Gianna Beretta Molla. You also pick a sponsor who is normally a godparent or a another adult. A bishop usually performs the sacrament. He lays his hands on the person’s head and anoints them with holy oil called chrism.
The bishop anoints the person with chrism, a special oil. This anointing is a sign of being chosen and strengthened by the Holy Spirit. We had to create a fact file on a saint we picked and I did St Gianna Beretta Molla. Here is my fact file. click on the image to look closer

Have you made you Confirmation?

Do you think Baptism is a joyous occasion? Why or why not?

Have you been Baptized? If you have can you answer these questions?

RE THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY

This week we have been learning about The Assumption of Mary. The Assumption of Mary is when Mary went up to heaven body and soul and if you think about it that does not sound correct because we normally only go up soul and our body stays her on earth. But Mary was special, Mary was the mother of Jesus and was faithful to God all the time. Mary went through that pain of watching her son die and still had faith in God.  Me and Eden made a poster about the Assumption click on the image to read it.

What did you already know about The Assumption of Mary? What did learn?
