We have been learning lots about Pope Leo XIV.
We have learnt lots of cool facts about him like before he went to the Conclave he watched the movie Conclave.

What did you learn?
For the last few weeks the Conclave has been happening. The Conclave is when the Pope dies or retires and lots of the Cardinals from all over the world come to Rome to vote for a new Pope. The Conclave is held in Vatican City. The Conclave is very important because it is when we get a new leader.

The new Pope was Elected on the 9th of May. Cardinal Robert Prevost from US is the new Pope and chose the name Pope Leo XIV (XIV means the 14th).
Did you learn anything about the Conclave?
In writing we have been learning about Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Myths and Legends. We had to write a story about a Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Myths or Legends and we could give it a modern twist, The Villain’s Side or a magical object.
I chose to write a story based on Cinderella with a modern twist.

What was your favourite part of the story?
This week in writing we have been writing short stories. We had a 150-250 word limit and it was really hard not to go over it. In our story we had to use Character, setting, problem/ purpose, plan, action, resolution, and conclusion. We also had to include Simple, compound, complex sentences, Metaphors, similes, personification and hyperboles.

What would you write about?
Hello, Today I am going to tell you about my dream job.
What and why
At school one of my favorite things to do is look after the little kids. My family, friends and teachers say I have a way with little kids especially ones that need a little bit more help. At school there are so many little kids that I love to help and hang out with, so my dream job is a special needs teacher.
How can I make this happen?
To become a special needs teacher I will need a bachelor’s degree, followed by a postgraduate diploma or certificate in special education or learning support.
Most days after school this lady comes and picks up some kids from school and brings their brother who has nonverbal autism, whenever he comes he runs straight to me and gives me a big hug. The lady that comes in with him, is his supporter and his supporter thinks I would be great at this job. There is another little girl at my school who has down syndrome and is deaf and me and my friends love looking after her. Whenever she comes into our class she yells Mon Mon, Charlie, Mila and we get to take her back to class. I am so excited to go to uni and become a special needs teacher and do something I really love and enjoy.
What do you want to do when you are older?
Right now we are in Lent, Lent is 40 days leading up to Easter. We have been learning about all of the events leading up to Easter, those events are Passion Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We learnt that Jesus died for us so we can always be forgiven and that he will always love us no matter what. Passion Sunday is the proper name for Palm Sunday and Maundy Thursday Is the proper name for Holy Thursday. We had to fill in a table with all of the Importance’s of the Holy Week events. Did You learn anything new about Holy week?
Advent has officially started. Advent has a lot of symbols and colors to do with it. For the 3rd task we had to fill in a table about each symbols and why are they the symbols. Something I learnt was the circle wreath symbolizes the eternity of God, the immortality of the soul, and the everlasting life we find in Christ.

What is your favorite thing about Advent?
This week we have been learning about advent, if you dont know anything about advent this is some facts.
There is a wreath at Church and sometimes in people’s homes with 4 candles 3 purple and 1 pink and each Sunday leading up to Christmas we light one. The first Sunday you light purple as well as the second but on the 3rd you light the pink then the last Sunday you light the last purple. Advent starts on the first Sunday in December witch this year is December 1st and it ends on Christmas eve. The candles remind us to be patient for Jesus coming. Christmas is not just about presents it’s about family and loving Jesus and helping people in need and being kind to everyone you see.
One of the tasks we did was to make an advent calendar but instead of chocolate in it we made one with random acts of kindness.

A few weeks ago we were learning about Mary. We learnt that Mary was he daughter of saints Anne and Joachim, Her cousin was Elizabeth who was the mother of John the Baptist and many more fun facts. Mary is one of my favorite Saints because she was not afraid and yes said yes to God to raise a baby when she was still young. Mary is a fearful saint and she loves everyone no matter what. We had to make a fact file on her, here is mine.
Did you learn anything about Mary?
The past Two weeks we were learning about all Saint and all Souls day. We learnt about the process to become a saint, there are four steps the steps are Request For Canonization, Determination, Beatification and Canonisation. Our task was to make a poster about the four steps. We also had to name 3 saints that had been though the process. Here is my poster.
